Report summary

Nasiriyah is a large oil field located in the Dhi Qar province in southern Iraq approximately 200 kilometres to the northwest of the city of Basrah. The field holds 2P reserves of 4.3 billion barrels but it has only undergone a small scale development to date with production peaking at 10 000 b/d. A bid round was previously announced for an integrated development of the field and construction of a 300 000 b/d refinery. The round was due for completion in June 2014 but has been delayed indefinitely.
