Report summary

The NC163 block is located in the Sirte Basin to the southeast of the Intisar fields. The block was awarded to OMV and Husky Energy in 1989. The Shatira field was discovered in 1992 when the exploration well A1 NC163 struck oil at a depth of 3 200 metres. Shatira remains the only discovery in the NC163 block.Shatira was brought onstream in March 1996 with two wells. Production peaked in 1997 at 4 300 b/d but has since been in decline.
