The North Bardawil development is located offshore in the eastern part of the Nile Delta north of Perenco's Tao field. IEOC (Eni) discovered gas with three of the four first phase exploration wells drilled. The Fahd 1 Assad 1 and Zaraf 1 were all drilled in 2002. A development lease was granted over the Assad and Zaraf discoveries.
