The North El Burg Area is located in shallow water in the Mediterranean between BP and Eni's Baltim North and Ras El Barr (Ha'py) Areas. Four gas discoveries have been made on the block since 2008, Satis, Salmon, Seth South and Taurt North. Satis is the largest discovery, accounting for over half of all reserves. The exploration licence expired in June 2013 and the operator has applied for development leases for all the discoveries. A final investment decision (FID) for development of the fields has yet to be taken.
