OML 122 is a large block in the shallow water Niger Delta. Five discoveries have been made, but none have been developed. The reserves on Bilabri were downgraded by nearly 50% following appraisal in 2006 and over 70% of the total reserves are gas. Peak Petroleum was awarded the acreage in the 1990s under the government's indigenous policy for the upstream sector.Participation on the block and the discoveries has been the subject of long-running legal action.
