Report summary
Encana Corporation is a leading developer of unconventional oil and gas plays in North America. Encana entered the Permian region in September 2014 by acquiring Athlon Energy, a Permian pure player, for US$7.1 billion. Within the US Lower 48, Encana also holds producing assets and exploration acreage in the Rocky Mountains and Gulf Coast regions. By acquiring Athlon, Encana added 140,000 net acres in the Midland Basin in 2014.
