The shallow water Tchendo field was discovered in 1979 in the Lower Congo Basin. It started production in 1991 and is now in decline. The field sits within the larger Pointe Noire Grands Fonds (PNGF) ring fence. Crude is sent to the Tchibouela field's facilities for processing and transported to the Djeno terminal for sale as part of the Djeno Blend. Total has no plans for further development work on the field.
