Report summaryThe Poseidon North and South gas fields are located to the southwest of Spain around 40 kilometres offshore in the Gulf of Cadiz. The main gas-bearing reservoirs are Miocene sandstone horizons. The Golfo Cadiz B-3 well drilled in 1978 discovered gas in the Lower Cretaceous, in a structure that was subsequently appraised by the Golfo Cadiz B-6 and Atlantida-3 wells.
