The Assewe and Rembo Kotto fields are situated onshore Gabon. Only Rembo Kotto has been developed. Elf initially brought it onstream in 1961 but in 1967 it was shut in. Perenco subsequently gained operatorship and brought it back onstream in 2000. The company has undertaken further development on the field to maintain output.Perenco drilled three appraisal wells on the Assewe field in 2008 with mixed results.
