Report summary

The Rospo Mare oil field is situated in the central Adriatic Sea 15 kilometres off the coast of the Abruzzo region. The field is notable for its exceptionally heavy 12 API crude with over 6% sulphur content. The original oil in place for Rospo Mare is estimated to be around 540 million barrels. The Rospo Mare field was discovered in 1975 with well Rospo Mare 1 which penetrated the karstified Cretaceous limestones at 1 350 metres subsea. The reservoir trap is a combination of ...
