Report summary

The Sangomar Deep block is 65 kilometres offshore Senegal in deep water. In 2014 Cairn Energy made the country's first offshore discovery. The FAN 1 exploration well found 29 metres of net oil bearing reservoir. FAN 1 was immediately followed by the SNE discovery 24 kilometres to the south east. The SNE exploration well found 36 metres of net oil pay in its shallower Cretaceous objective but no hydrocarbons were found in a Lower Cretaceous target.An extensive appraisal programme has ...
