Selat Panjang
Report summary
The Selat Panjang PSC comprises the Selat Panjang, Bakau, and Rawa Minyak oil fields. Located onshore Riau in the Central Sumatra basin, the Selat Panjang PSC oil fields are in the proximity of those in the Malacca Strait PSC and Coastal Plains Pekanbaru PSC. A 2014 Plan of Development (POD) to increase production fell through and production on the block ceased in 2016. Effective May 2019, Canadian company Sonoro Energy and Indonesian company Menara Global Energi (operating under the name Sumatra Global Energi "SGE") signed a 20-year PSC under Gross Split terms. While production did restart in Q4 2022 through workovers on the Bakau field, Sonoro Energy noted that this activity did not fulfil any PSC work commitments. Sonoro exited the PSC effective June 2023 leaving Menara with a 100% operated interest.
