Report summaryThe major Shurtan gas field is located in the Amu Darya Basin in southern Uzbekistan. It is Uzbekistan's largest gas field.Production began in 1980 and the field is now more than 75% depleted. Peak output of 2,000 mmcfd of gas and 21,000 b/d of condensate was reached in the late 1990s.
