Sinan is located in the Gulf of Mexico, about 80 km northeast of Puerto Dos Bocas in Tabasco and about 7 km northwest of the Bolontiku field. The field will be offered as one of the JV opportunities available with Pemex. Sinan is part of the Litoral de Tabasco business unit. Geologically, the field lies in the Salina del Istmo sub-basin. In general, fields in this area are in reverse faulted anticlines, often cored or intruded by salt diapirs. The region is dominated by salt tectonics associated with the Chiapas Orogeny. The structures are controlled by tectonic salt and all of the fields have diapiric salt intrusions on their flanks. The structures are also traversed by smaller normal faults.
