South Ghara Fields

Report summary

The Shoab Ali, GH 376 and Hilal fields are situated in the Gulf of Suez to the south of the Gupco Merged Area. The three fields are located in separate blocks that were formerly part of the South Ghara exploration acreage. Gupco operates the fields on behalf of the Torsina joint venture company. Shoab Ali was the first field to be developed, during the Israeli occupation of Sinai. The field was brought onstream in 1978, but returned to Egyptian control in 1979. GH 376 and Hilal came onstream in 1981 and 1982 respectively.
