Sub-Saharan Africa Upstream month in brief: 5 February 2015
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
The drop in oil price has compounded Afren's problems, and a formal offer from SEPLAT may follow. Capital spending and project sanctions have also suffered; deepwater projects in Nigeria and Angola are at risk, as is onshore investment in Nigeria. There was some good news for LNG projects in Mozambique and Cameroon, although these remain at risk of delay. On the exploration front, there are key wells in Angola, Kenya and Morocco being drilled. Results are expected in the next month.
