OMV Petrom operates the Tasbulat Area in southwest Kazakhstan via its Tasbulat Oil Corporation (TOC) subsidiary. It contains the Aktas, Tasbulat and Turkmenoi fields, which currently produce about 3,000 b/d of oil. Tasbulat supplied minor volumes in the 1980s, but was subsequently shut-in until 2003.
