The beginning of the end: Encana files application to decommission Deep Panuke
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
In March 2018, Deep Panuke - the second of two Nova Scotia offshore developments - has submitted its application to commence decommissioning. The Encana-operated field filed to the National Energy Board to begin abandoning the five subsea wells, offshore platform and gas export pipeline tied-in to Goldboro, Nova Scotia. It has been a rocky five year lifetime for the gas project, which expects to completely decommission by the end of 2021. With no further developments on the horizon, Maritimes Canada will transition into an completely import dependent market.
