The technical and infrastructural challenges of developing Brazil's pre-salt
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Production from Brazil’s pre-salt reached 800,000 b/d in April 2015, less than five years after the first pilot test began at Lula. With new pre-salt wells delivering IP rates of up to 30,000 b/d, and the majority of the resource yet to be developed, it is tempting to assume that Petrobras' future is both straightforward and secure. However, enormous technical and infrastructural challenges must be overcome for the resource to be fully exploited.
