Report summary
In 1968, SPAFE (the predecessor of Total Gabon) discovered the large Torpille field offshore Gabon. An exploitation licence was granted the following year and the field came on stream in 1972. Output peaked at 25,000 b/d in 1972.The discovery fuelled a period of intensive exploration in the Port-Gentil trough. Baudroie was the largest satellite of Torpille to be discovered, and a separate development licence was carved out. Production on the Baudroie area started in 1980.All crude is ...
