Report summary

Total is a major multinational E&P company headquartered in France, with upstream projects in over 40 countries. Within the Lower 48, Total is active in both the Northeast and Gulf Coast regions. The company entered the regions through two separate JVs with Chesapeake Energy. Total was the first NOC in the Barnett Shale in January 2010 and then the first NOC in the Utica Shale in November 2011.
