Total US liquids production averaged 11.6 million b/d in 2014, year-on-year growth of 1.6 million b/d, and is forecast to increase to 15.3 million b/d in 2020. Tight oil production will drive growth, increasing from 3.6 million b/d in 2014 to 7.5 million b/d in 2025 with the Bakken, Eagle Ford and horizontal drilling in the Permian being the key contributors. Development of the Lower Tertiary will help boost output in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico while Alaska output is forecast to decline.
