The Vixen field was developed as a single well subsea tie back to the Viking 'BD' platform. The field started production in August 2000 only 15 months after its discovery via a re entry and sidetrack of the discovery well 49/17(N) 13.Gas from the field was exported along with output from the Viking field via the only remaining Viking North platform the Viking 'AR' riser.
