Report summary

The South Hurghada licence is located in the Eastern Desert, on the west bank of the Gulf of Suez, around ten kilometres southwest of Hurghada. The acreage was awarded to Esso Egypt in 1991 and the Wadi El Sahl discovery was made in December 1995. The field is now operated by Masawa Petroleum. The Wadi El Sahl field was brought onstream in June 1997 and peaked in 2006. The field is now in decline.
