The BP-operated Western Route Export Pipeline (WREP) runs from the Sangachal Terminal (near Baku) in Azerbaijan to the Georgian Black Sea port of Supsa, from where Azerbaijani oil is tankered through the Bosporus Straits to the Mediterranean.Despite commissioning of the larger BTC pipeline in 2006, WREP remains an important export route for the super-giant Azeri Chirag Guneshli (ACG) oil field.
