Report summary

The Kipushi mine operated as a commercial mine up until 1993 at which time it was placed on care and maintenance. Peak production in the 1980s reached 1.5Mt/a of ore containing 143kt zinc. The reopening of the mine has been under consideration since 1996 when American Mineral Fields (AMF) the fore runner of Adastra Minerals reached an agreement with G├ęcamines to earn up to a 50% interest in Kipushi by funding a feasibility study.
