2019 Wood Mackenzie Americas Olefins Conference

  • JW Marriott Houston by The Galleria
  • Houston, United States
Riding out the storm:Investing in the Olefins & Derivative Industry during a period of turbulencesAfter several years of very strong profitability and demand growth, the olefins & polymers industry is approaching some major headwinds:• The impending overbuild of new production capacity faster than demand growth for many olefins and polymers• Swelling initiatives to reduce plastic consumption/waste and to increase plastic recycling• Peak transportation demand for crude oil resulting In more refinery-petrochemical integration investments• Volatile feedstock dynamics due to continued natural gas, crude oil & NGL supply growth in North America and exports to the rest of the world• An increasing potential of an economic recession that could severely impact the demand outlook for petrochemicals• Government protectionism & nationalism impacting access and trade between key petrochemical marketsWood Mackenzie's 7th Annual Olefins Conference will bring together our team of olefins & polymers experts to Houston to address these headwinds and other sources of turbulence for the petrochemical industry. Join us as we share our assessment of whether these factors are real, short or long term in nature, how they will impact the market, and what companies can do to position their businesses to survive and thrive during the upcoming inevitable turbulence.
