Jon is a vice president and global head of Wood Mackenzie’s CCUS consulting. He has more than 30 years’ energy industry experience having joined in early 2024 after three years with Storegga – a CCS developer - as EVP M&A and Portfolio.
Jon was responsible for driving Storegga’s international expansion strategy and was instrumental in helping the company secure an offshore CCS license in Norway with Sval and Neptune, as well as helping to grow the business in the US with Talos, Kimmeridge and others. He also spent time in Asia Pacific, developing an MOU with Petronas, and leading discussions with other key players in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Australia.
Jon has advised a wide variety of energy clients on M&A transactions as a managing director leading upstream M&A for Standard Chartered Bank and others: in Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia, Australia and the Americas. In energy consulting, his experience has included transaction due diligence, valuation, strategy, technology outlook, supply studies, licensing rounds and cost benchmarking. More recently, over the past six years, his focus has been on low carbon and CCS in particular.
Jon began his career as a petroleum engineer with British Gas E&P, followed by roles in commercial positions at Hardy Oil and Gas and British-Borneo Oil and Gas.
