People are our most powerful natural resource

Our Thrive programme is our commitment to a culture of inclusion, support, and engagement for our employees, our clients and our communities. It is founded on our belief that excellent corporate citizenship is a cornerstone of our commercial success. We currently have over 100 people volunteering their time as Advocates and Thrive is open to all employees to participate in.

Community engagement

We look beyond our offices, providing support to our neighbouring communities and environments. Through our Community Engagement programme, everyone in the business is given one day paid leave each year to volunteer at a charity or give their time in other ways. We also provide matched fundraising of up to US$5,000 per employee per year and run multiple events with local charities to support them through the year. During the festive season, Wood Mackenzie employees are given the opportunity to select charities that the company donate to on their behalf.

Wellness

Our Mental Health and Wellbeing Advocates in each region ensure we look after our physical and mental health, inside and outside work.

  • Empowering active lifestyles with physical health challenges and fitness initiatives
  • Offering mental health first aid training and support through our Advocates
  • Providing education and resources on mental health awareness for line managers and employees

Inclusion, diversity and belonging

We have an inclusive culture where everyone’s uniqueness is valued and you can have a strong sense of belonging. No matter your background, identity, or circumstance. To elevate the level of discussion and provide support to our employees, we have established a variety of employee resource groups:

We also have a network of ID&B Advocates, who role model, educate and advocate for our inclusive culture. They work closely with our employee resource groups across all areas of our Thrive programme.

Sustainability

Aligning with our new brand purpose ‘Transforming the way we power the planet’, we launched our Sustainability group within Thrive in 2021. Now is the time for Wood Mackenzie to have an even greater focus on Sustainability.

As we advise and partner with our customers on their work here, be it oil & gas companies, metals & mining producers, utilities, banks and investors financing the industry, we should come from a position of strength on this subject.

Our parent company, Verisk, has also publicly committed to reducing its 2019 Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions footprint by 21% by 2024. And so Wood Mackenzie will be playing its part by reducing its footprint.

Our work here focuses on reducing our emissions, but also on sustainable practices in our offices as well as home lives. We support our employees to make a difference in their environment and their lives.

In 2021, we joined hands with Let’s Share the Sun Foundation. Together, we raise funds to provide solar systems to communities with poor access to the grid. Find out more about our recent project, where we sent a team of three Wood Mackenzie analysts to the small Puerto Rican mountain village of Adjuntas.
