In part one, we assess traditionally carbon-intensive industries including steel and thermal coal. Coal is the most controversial of all hard commodities, but as topical as ever – coal – remains a key component of power generation and steel production particularly in Asia.  In this section, we present the 5 year outlook of these bulk commodities and explore the various risk factors that are front of mine for investors.

In part two, we present the 5 year outlook for metals with a detailed look at copper, zinc, nickel and battery raw materials (lithium, cobalt and graphite) – critical components of battery manufacturing, both in EVs and stationary energy storage.
