Madrid | Power & renewables briefing 2023

Power markets and profitability

There has been much upheaval within Spanish power markets over the last few months as the price cap placed on power pricing in 2022 has limited profit generation for renewables generators. Although this was intended as a temporary measure, the EU is now pushing proposals for longer term overhauls of power markets – this will have an impact on renewable project profitability. Join our experts in Madrid as they delve deeper into the power market and provide an outlook for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.

We will also be taking this opportunity to celebrate five years of our Wood Mackenzie Madrid office.

During the in-person briefing, Wood Mackenzie will discuss:

  • Investment outlook for renewables
  • The Iberian power market outlook
  • European renewables supply chain outlook
  • Renewables route to market without auction support

Speakers

  • Alex Perez, Senior Research Analyst, European Power & Renewables
  • Ana Fernandez, Senior Research Analyst, European Power & Renewables
  • Apostolis Valassas, Senior Associate, Supply Chain Intelligence
  • Murray Douglas, Research Director, European Power & Renewables
