The commercial success of plastics has elevated critical sustainability challenges. There is a growing threat to virgin investments from plastics bans and increased recycling. The industry is changing and responding, consumers are more aware and more demanding and meanwhile bans and other legislative mandates are developing. Therefore, refiners, plastics producers, and brands need to adapt their business model to avoid overall exclusion of plastics from value chains.
