Anna Xu specialises in Chinese copper supply research, leading our smelter and refinery cost modelling alongside broader regional copper market analysis. Prior to joining Wood Mackenzie in 2024, she spent over eight years spearheading copper market research at Argus Media and Fastmarkets MB.
Throughout her career, Anna has specialised in global trade flows across copper concentrates, cathodes and scrap, alongside managing benchmark TC/RC indexing and product pricing methodologies. Having built her expertise alongside the rapid technological modernisation of China's copper sector, she brings deep insight into domestic operating dynamics and global project landscapes.
Anna maintains an extensive network across the Chinese copper value chain to deliver forward-looking strategic insights. She regularly presents and shares market insights at major industry platforms – including the Antaike Copper Conference and Xinhu Futures forums – and has moderated an executive panel at Asia Copper Week (CESCO).
