Manish Gupta is a senior analyst with more than 9 years of experience in the mining industry. He is currently based in Delhi with primary responsibility for Wood Mackenzie’s Asia Pacific thermal coal research. He is responsible for the valuation of coal mining assets in Indonesia, Australia, and India by collecting physical, logistical, and financial information. He also analyses the Indonesian coal market from a demand, supply, and pricing perspective. He is also the SME for Emissions Benchmarking Tool (EBT) where he analyses emissions for the thermal and metallurgical coal.
Prior to joining Wood Mackenzie in 2021, Manish worked as a sell-side equity analyst for leading global investment banks, the last one being HSBC, covering global mining equities. He also has experience in operational management and technical roles in the coal industry, including large-scale open pit mines, mine planning, and underground board and pillar operations.
