Mariela is a senior analyst on the carbon management team, focusing on power industry emissions. She develops long-term forecasting models and analysis on sector emissions and policy, building data products to help clients navigate the energy transition. Her research spans across grid carbon intensity, shifting decarbonisation pathways, and the evolving energy landscape.
Mariela joined Wood Mackenzie in 2023 from a large US utility, where she built reporting and analytics tools to support distribution engineering and grid operations. Prior to that, she led technology innovation programmes across industry, academia, and government, advancing R&D in clean energy and power systems.
