Mihir has 15 years of experience in the metals and mining sector – specialising in research and consulting for steel, iron ore and coal. He works closely with clients across the bulk commodity value chain, including global miners, producers, banks, investors and industry bodies. He delivers insights on demand-supply forecasts, cost structures, investment trends, operational benchmarks & energy transition.
He also leads Wood Mackenzie's Metals and Mining Emissions Benchmarking Tool, which tracks asset-level greenhouse gas emissions, carbon pricing and climate-related risks across base metals, battery raw materials and bulk commodities.
Mihir joined Wood Mackenzie in 2021, initially focusing on energy transition for steel and iron ore markets. He subsequently led the development of M&M Lens (a flagship data analytics platform).
Before Wood Mackenzie, Mihir spent five years at CRISIL Ltd. (an S&P Global company) as Manager for Bulk Commodities. Earlier in his career, he worked for five years as a Senior Commodity Analyst at a boutique consulting firm, covering global steel, iron ore and coal markets.
