Nancy Wang is an Investment Director at Octopus Energy Generation, the generation arm of the Octopus Energy Group. Since joining Octopus, Nancy has led the investment strategy in solar, onshore wind and battery storage for GB, the largest market for the company, and more recently, spearheaded the development and implementation of the company’s co-investment and SMA strategy, building partnerships with large institutional investors on larger transactions. With 16 years of experience in the infrastructure and energy space in multiple regions and across both equity and debt, Nancy started her career in investment banking M&A advisory in Asia in energy and mining industry. She also had a long tenure working at the International Finance Corporation, the private sector arm of the World Bank focusing on energy and infra debt and equity transactions in the Middle East and Africa region prior to joining Octopus. Earlier in his career he was senior modeller on a wholesale electricity least-cost dispatch model delivered to the Scottish Government. He has also provided modelling of correlated fuel commodity prices for the Department of Energy and Climate Change (now BEIS).

He led power modelling efforts and forecasting project economics of various generation technologies. He previously guided solar market research for across the globe for producing databases, reports and insights. With over 15 years’ experience as an analyst and consultant focused on clean power technologies, Rory is a recognised expert in power system flexibility and energy storage. His career includes roles at Ofgem, the UK energy regulator, and in commercial asset portfolio development at a growth-stage power technology company. Peter is a research director with more than a decade’s experience in European power and renewables markets. Peter joined Wood Mackenzie in 2007 as a senior power markets analyst, before moving into a role as product manager for our European Gas & Power Service. He took up the role of research director in 2015. Before joining the business, Peter was at National Grid in the UK, leading the production of long-term power generation and energy demand analysis. He has also held market forecasting, transmission network planning and commercial roles in the UK gas industry.

Giovanni Terranova, co-founder and managing partner of Bluefield, brings extensive expertise in energy finance. His career spans banking, advisory services, and private equity since 2000, with a dedicated focus on energy and renewables since 2005. Giovanni has participated in the funding of c.€9.1 billion of energy transactions globally. He has served as board member of various solar energy companies in Italy, France, Netherlands and the UK. During his career, he has been involved in more than €1.9 billion UK and European solar energy transactions. Giovanni has played a leading role in BSIF (Bluefield Solar Income Fund) strategy since its IPO, with a focus on portfolio management, portfolio financing and investment. Giovanni’s exposure to solar energy dates back to 1998 when working at the Italian energy agency ENEA. Giovanni has as MBA from Luiss School of Management, Rome, and an MSc in Power Engineering.
