Can exploration reverse gas declines for Trinidad?

Trinidad and Tobago, which produces some of the highest volumes of gas in South America, has been experiencing a decline in gas production decline since 2015. Insufficient feedgas has lowered Atlantic LNG utilisation and strained the domestic petrochemical market, leading to the closure of two methanol plants. But what does this really mean?

We visited E&P companies, government agencies and industry stakeholders in Port of Spain, Pointe-à-Pierre, and Point Lisas in Trinidad and Tobago to gather more information and build our analysis of the current environment.
