What's inside this report? Key findings

2019 was a busy year for Alaska with a string of successful appraisal campaigns, some groundbreaking corporate announcements and the filing of a new ballot initiative. However, this success wasn’t echoed in Alaska’s producing assets, and it proved to be another year of declining production.

Hopes are now high for 2020 to be the year of growth for the region, with several new well pads due to come onstream. And on the exploration front, thirteen E&A wells are planned, with further appraisal at Willow and Narwhal, as well as exploration at new prospects Harpoon, Stirrup and Mitquq.

In this report, our experts share their review of 2019 and their view of the year ahead. Topics include:

  1. Production
  2. Exploration
  3. Leasing
  4. Deal activity
  5. Fiscal uncertainty
