1 minute read

According to our latest research, Global solar PV installations will reach a new high of 114.5 GW in 2019, up 17.5% over 2018. The market is now back on a strong growth trajectory – 2018’s slow-down was just a blip – and we expect annual installations to rise to around 125 GW per year by the early 2020s.

Which solar markets are on the cusp of a boom?

The global PV market continues to diversify rapidly. Countries installing between 1 and 5 GW annually will be the market’s growth engine. In 2018 there were 7 such markets, by 2022 there’ll be 19, with new names including Saudi Arabia, France and Taiwan.
