David Riley

David brings extensive experience in mined commodities research as a senior research analyst for the rare earths market. His work focuses on delivering insights across the rare earth supply chain, a critical component of the energy transition.

Prior to joining Wood Mackenzie in 2025, David worked at Argus Media, where he led global potassium analysis within the consulting subscriptions team. Here he evaluated global market supply and demand dynamics, trade flows, and price forecasts, as well as devising mine cost models.
