Vignesh Gulasingam

Vignesh leads Wood Mackenzie’s Global Power & Renewables Consulting practice and directs engagements across the power and renewables sector. He has more than two decades of experience in electric power and renewable energy sector supporting strategic, financial and energy trading and marketing firms in the areas of business strategy, acquisitions & divestiture, asset due diligence, commercial analytics (including PPA/Hedging), regional power markets, price forecasting and asset valuation, energy and asset management, business/project (greenfield and brownfield) development, transmission, commercial contract negotiations and regulatory affairs.  Furthermore, he brings a unique perspective having worked in leadership roles at regulated and unregulated electric utilities, energy consulting firms and two start-up IPPs backed by a consortium of hedge funds, where he was a member of the management team, investment committee and the leader of the commercial organization.

As a consultant, Mr. Gulasingam has advised numerous strategic and financial (private equities, hedge funds, pension plans and infrastructure funds) investors in several generation asset/portfolio transactions, representing clients both on the “buy-side” and “sell-side” of transactions covering thermal and renewables assets in US, Canada, Mexico and Australia, market entry strategies, energy transition topics and commercial advisory matters .
