Will Taylor

Will is a Principal Consultant in Wood Mackenzie’s Downstream Consulting team based in Edinburgh. Prior to this he worked within Wood Mackenzie's Refining and Assets research team, managing the company's market leading refinery modelling software, PetroPlan. He has over 12 years of experience in the energy industry, focusing on refining and commodity analytics.

Within consulting Will has supported multiple studies including the development of a crude oil marketing strategy, buy and sell-side commercial due diligence for Downstream asset transactions, and studies focused on strategic oil product storage and infrastructure.

He has a deep understanding of all technical and commercial aspects of the industry including crude quality and supply, asset valuation, refinery operations and infrastructure.

Prior to joining Wood Mackenzie in 2020, Will worked at bp for 7 years, initially as an Oil Analyst on the London office’s trading floor and latterly as the Senior Crude Scheduler at bp’s Rotterdam refinery.
