In this insight Wood Mackenzie Chemicals presents our current preliminary view of the 2020 European steam cracker turnaround schedule. To understand the extent of the 2020 schedule, the total planned capacity loss for 2020 is calculated and compared with the previous 10 years in Europe. The significant change in the geographical distribution between the current 2019 and 2020 turnaround schedules is also examined. Finally, Wood Mackenzie's current view of 2019's monthly planned and unplanned outages, which have been significant, is also presented.
