February US ethylene spot prices have averaged near 16.8 c/lb a decrease from the 18.1 c/lb seen in January. However ethane cash have risen to 11.7 c/lb, getting closer to propane and butane cash costs of 14.4 and 12.5 c/lb respectively. Crackers delays have helped tighten 1H19, pushing back expected run cuts to 2H19. Sasol announced cracker delays to the summer. This shift and a later Formosa start date has changed our view on market length. We now expect run cuts to be needed in 1H19. Shintech is in commissioning and expected to ramp up in March.
