Commodity Market Report
Olefins - Ethylene Americas Monthly Market Overview June 2019
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Ethylene spot prices firmed over last month, expanding margins as cash costs lightly dropped. This is likely to be the end of the six month trend of decreasing monthly spot prices. Prices rose mid-month, especially outside the Mont Belvieu hub, as the market saw a glimmer of tightness on both planned and unplanned supply outages and derivative startups combined with continued delays on new cracker startups. Wood Mackenzie continues to expect margins and thus prices to dive when the current slate of crackers starts up.
