May US ethylene spot prices have averaged near 13.3 c/lb, decreasing about 0.5 c/lb from the April average. The US ethylene contract for April settled down 1.75 c/lb from March. Spot margins have lightly decreased over last month as ethane cash costs have rolled over. Our ethylene market outlook for 2019 remains long. The next derivative units are expected to come online in Q3, which would most likely put them ahead of the large crackers coming later this year.
