This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
September US ethylene spot prices assessed at Mont Belvieu have averaged near 23.75 cts/lb, increasing over 5.5 cts/lb from the August average. Production remained relatively low in September. Further unplanned outages occurred due to severe rain from Tropical Storm Imelda in mid-September, which caused a few operators to temporarily shut crackers. These new disruptions combined with continuing unplanned and extended planned outages at a few cracker sites to further drive up spot prices. Read this month's report to see our view of if and when this spot price spike will end.
