Commodity Market Report
Polyethylene North America monthly market overview February 2019
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
In February low ethane and naphtha pricing contributed to HDPE spot-export FOB Houston prices falling to the lowest point in two years. Domestic demand gained momentum as HDPE remained the key driver for demand growth, improving more rapidly than other grades after the seasonal downturn. High inventory levels and healthy domestic production have kept US markets long, as export markets were subdued due to weak demand in Asia through the Lunar New Year vacation in early February.
