Commodity Market Report
Polyethylene North America monthly market overview June 2019
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Polyethylene markets continued to perform below expectations in Q2, although the manufacturing, retail and automotive sectors picked up. Sales for both HDPE and LDPE fell in May, while LLDPE sales were up. Despite demand faltering in May, year to date production increased compared to 2018. Inventory levels are flat to slightly increasing, aided by increasing export volumes. As the latest tariffs from the US-China trade dispute materialised, US polyethylene imports of finished goods continue to fall month to month.
